Apple Macintosh bootable ROM SIMM for Mac SE/30, IIx, IIcx, IIci, IIsi & IIfx
Programmable 2MB ROM SIMM for Apple Macintosh SE/30, IIx, IIcx, IIci, IIsi and IIfx.
It’s 100% compatible to the ROMinator II SIMM.
This SIMM can hold a Macintosh ROM plus a 1.5MB bootable ROM disk (compressed).
SIMM can be programmed with a minimal bootable System 7.0.1 image for a totally disk-less boot (press ctrl+R for ROM boot).
Additionally this ROM makes every Mac ’32bit clean’, i.e. you can use more than 8MB RAM without the Mode32 system extension.
Plus: The RAM test is disabled, so booting your Mac with more than 16MB won’t take several minutes anymore.
Finally, HD20 support is also integrated so that you can use the BMOW floppy emulator.
The standard ROM image contains an English System 7.1 and these tools;
- Apple HD SC Setup (Patched)
- Disk Copy
- Disk First Aid
- Stuffit Expander
Using PLCC flash ICs enables you to re-program them individually with a standard flash programmer using a PLCC-32 adapter.
It is also compatible with Doug’s SIMM programmer (design is open-source).
I made these ROM SIMMs myself for my own and now selling the surplus.
